Write it with AI
One prompt writes the piece from your brief, plus a publishing pack: titles, meta descriptions, slug and alt text
Check every fact, price and claim before you publish; the prompt tells the AI to leave [add …] markers rather than invent them.

What is a content brief?
A content brief is a one- to two-page plan that tells a writer, or an AI, exactly what to create: the topic and keyword, who it is for, what the searcher wants, an outline, the questions to answer, links, proof and the call to action.
Writers use a brief to hit the target first time. Business owners use one to brief a freelancer, a team member or an AI and get back something they can publish. A good brief turns “write a blog about pricing” into a page that answers what the searcher actually asked.
Content brief template: what to include
Every brief this generator builds follows the same ten-part SEO content brief template:

- SEO: H1, meta title, URL slug and meta description rules.
- Outline: the H2 and H3 headings, chosen for the angle and format.
- Questions to answer: from your own keyword list where possible.
- Internal links: your other ideas, one stage before and after.
- Proof to supply: the facts only you can add, marked [add …].
- Call to action: what you want, and where it goes.
- Schema: the structured data types to add.

How to write a content brief in five steps
- Start from a chosen idea. A title and a keyword you have already checked. The Content Idea Generator gives you both, matched to a journey stage.
- Match the search intent. Someone searching “cost” wants figures; someone searching “near me” wants to book.
- Outline by angle and format. A price guide, a case study and a LinkedIn post need different structures.
- Add proof and links. Real figures, examples and links to your other pages make content trustworthy and help it rank.
- Hand it over with a prompt. Give the brief to a writer, or paste the step 4 prompt into your AI and check the draft against the brief.
Content briefs: frequently asked questions
What is a content brief?
A content brief is a one- to two-page plan that tells a writer, or an AI, exactly what to create: the topic and keyword, who it is for, what the searcher wants, an outline, the questions to answer, links, proof and the call to action. It keeps every piece on target and saves rewrites.
What goes in an SEO content brief?
The primary and extra keywords, search intent, the H1 and meta title, a heading outline, the questions to answer, internal links, the proof you will supply, the call to action, schema and the image. This generator builds all ten sections for you.
How long should a content brief be?
One to two pages. Long enough to remove guesswork, short enough that a writer reads all of it. The outline and the questions to answer matter most.
Do I need the other Content Engine tools first?
No. Type your own idea: a title, a keyword, a journey stage and a format. If you used the Seed Keywords Planner and the Content Idea Generator, your ticked ideas load here automatically.
Does the Content Brief Generator use AI?
The brief is built in your browser, with no AI and no cost. Step 4 builds a prompt you can paste into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot to write the piece from the brief, plus a publishing pack with titles, meta descriptions and alt text.
Is the Content Brief Generator free, and where is my data stored?
Yes, it is free with no login. Your ideas, briefs and your Business DNA stay in your own browser on this device and are never sent to us.
