Questions

Can you give me an example of customer research?

Yes. Say you sell bookkeeping to trades businesses. You search Reddit for “bookkeeping tradies” and find twenty threads about lost receipts. You search Google for “bookkeeping mistakes” and find people confusing BAS deadlines. You check the three-star reviews of competing apps and find complaints about setup time. Twenty minutes later you have the exact words customers use, three content angles and a gap nobody covers. That is one sweep.

What is customer research?

Customer research is finding out what your customers actually think, say and do, rather than what you assume. It covers the questions they ask, the mistakes they make, what they already buy and the words they use. This tool does the desk-research half of it, free, from public sources.

Is consumer research legit?

Desk research from public sources is both legitimate and standard practice. Every source this tool opens is a public search page anyone can visit. Nothing is scraped, bought or stored. Where research stops being legitimate is paying for fake reviews or misrepresenting who you are in a community, and this tool does neither.

What are the 5 C’s of customer experience?

They are usually given as customer, cost, convenience, communication and consistency. They are a checklist for reviewing an existing experience, which is a different job from this tool, which is about finding the language of people who are not yet your customers.

Is this customer research software?

No. It is a free web page that builds search links and holds your notes in your own browser. There is no account, no subscription and no server storing your work. Customer research software usually means a paid platform that runs surveys or interviews; this is the free desk-research step you do first.

Does it work for B2B customer research?

Yes, and the LinkedIn, Reddit and Google “vs” sources are the ones to lean on. B2B buyers research in public more than people expect; they just do it in different places. Skip Pinterest and TikTok and spend the time on groups and comparison searches.

How is this different from running a survey?

A survey asks people what they think, which gets you considered answers in your words. A sweep observes what they already said, unprompted, in theirs. The second is better for finding language and content angles; the first is better for testing a specific question. Do the sweep first, then survey if you still have a question.

Is it really free?

Yes, and there is no login. Every source it opens is free to search. Google Keyword Planner needs a free Google Ads account but no ad spend. Three of the sources elsewhere on the web limit free use; those are not in this tool for that reason.
